General Description
Ganesha is the son of Shiva and Parvati. His vehicle is a mouse named Dink. Being the lord of the Ganas, he also has a name Ganapati. In astrology, he has considered the deity of Ketu, and all the resources of the world are their master, Shri Ganesha. He is also called Gajanan because of his head like an elephant. According to Hindu scriptures, the name of Ganesha is worshiped first for any work, That’s why he is also called Prathampujya, Ganapati is Adidev who took a different incarnation in every era. Their physical structure also has a specific and deep meaning. Shri Ganesh has been called Pranav (Om) in Shivmanas worship. Methodical Worship Method of Shri Ganesh ji –
First of all, if possible, all the family members should be present at the place of worship. After retiring from daily activities in the morning, take bath and wear clean clothes. After this, go to the house of worship, put a bandanwar of betel leaves at the door of your house early in the morning, and establish the Kalash. Resolve with the mantra ‘Mum Sarvakarmasiddhaye Siddhivinayakpujanmah Karishye’, after that make a ‘Swastika’ by laying the red or yellow cloth on the post of worship and installing the idol or picture of Lord Ganapati.
Then offer them flowers, Akshat, sandalwood, incense etc. After this offer 21 durva to Vighnaharta Ganesha. Keep in mind that they have 10 names (Ganadip, Umaputra, Aghnashak, Vinayaka, Ishputra, Sarvasiddhiprada, Ekadanta, Ibhavaktra, Mooshkavahana and Kumarguru.) Offer two durva to them remembering each name.
After this, offer the last remaining durva to Varadganesh, after offering the last durva to Varadganesh, complete the worship with incense, lamp. At last, offer 21 modaks made in ghee to Ganesha, after that perform aarti and kirtan, Salute Ganapati while chanting Om Ganeshaya Namah.
